Swissvale native Billy Gardell, of “Mike & Molly” fame, and his brother, Brian, have opened up a pizza restaurant in Orlando, Fla.

Gardell said on the WDVE Morning Show on Oct. 13 that the restaurant, Gardell Bros. Brick Oven Pizza, has been doing well since it opened in September.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that Gardell, 45, who graduated from Winter Park High School in Florida, had been spotted at the location before it opened and had posed for pictures with fans and workers. He also was there Oct. 9 for the restaurant's grand opening in the Villages of Hunter's Creek.

“The elements came together at the right time,” Gardell told WKMG television news. “My grandmother had a pizzeria in the ‘60s, so this is something that's been in our family for a while, and we wanted an independent place that felt like this is our neighborhood joint.”

CBS' “Mike & Molly,” which also stars Melissa McCarthy, has been renewed for a sixth season but no premiere date has been set yet.
