Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will return to Pittsburgh’s Benedum Center for two shows, at 7 and 9:30 p.m. March 9.

Tickets starting at $52 go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Nov. 16. Tickets will be available from these official Pittsburgh Cultural Trust ticket sources: by phone at 412-456-6666; in person at Theater Square Box Office, 655 Penn Ave.; or online at trustarts.org.

Seinfeld has been hailed for his ability to joke about the little things in life that relate to audiences everywhere, according to a release. His latest projects include the Emmy-nominated web series, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” and a Netflix special, “Jerry Before Seinfeld.”

“Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” has garnered more than 100 million views, the release says.

Seinfeld’s comedy career took off after his first appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1981. Eight years later, he teamed up with fellow comedian Larry David to create one of the most successful comedy series in the history of television, “Seinfeld,” a “show about nothing” that ran for nine seasons on NBC and won numerous Emmy, Golden Globe and People’s Choice awards.

“Seinfeld” was named the greatest television show of all time in 2009 by TV Guide, and in 2012 was identified as the best sitcom ever in a 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll, the release says.

Seinfeld also has starred in, written and produced movies; directed and produced a Broadway hit; and written books for both adults and children.

Most recently, he has been performing at New York’s Beacon Theatre as part of a year-long residency entitled “Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestand.”
