Caroline explains why she exposed Bill's manipulations, but Bill is irate that Caroline would betray his trust. An accident sends Caroline to the emergency room, and all fingers point at Bill for the blame. Karen and Danielle arrive at the hospital, and become angry when Bill's name is mentioned as the cause. Thinking that Bill's drinking might be the reason for his rage, his family members discuss how to deal with it. Liam runs into Rick for the first time since learning about his lie, and it doesn't end well.

It's New Year's Eve, and there are plenty of “fireworks.” When John confronts Kristen about her feelings for Brady, she reveals she's been plotting her revenge against John since the day she returned to Salem. John realizes Kristen is as evil as ever, and vows she won't come between him and Brady. Brady hits John to defend Kristen's honor — causing the two men to have a full-blown fistfight. Jennifer and Daniel have a romantic moment at the stroke of midnight. Daniel is stunned when Chloe arrives at his apartment. Will confronts Nick about his “gay boy” comment, and warns Nick he won't have his child raised by a bigot.

General Hospital
Kristina's attention is drawn to Connie's car trunk, from which a strange sound originates. The foursome piles into a car and takes pursuit. Todd escorts Carly to the New Year's party on the Haunted Star. Olivia is dogged by visions. After Connie's car crashes, Starr and Michael check on Kristina and Trey, then rush to help Connie and Johnny. Starr discovers Connie hanging onto the edge of the same cliff where Cole and Hope died. As the others head to the hospital, Connie considers fleeing to avoid charges for her abduction of Johnny. Starr finally confronts Johnny. Todd and Carly arrive in time to see Dante handcuffing Johnny. When Carly learns why, she rips Johnny to shreds.

The Young and the Restless
On New Year's Eve, Nick takes Avery to his new club. Fen shocks Jamie with the news that Summer is really Brittni, the girl who harassed him online. At the athletic club, Jack orders a drink as a redhead named Stephanie sits down next to him. The next morning, Jack wakes up with a hangover and sees Stephanie passed out on the floor. When Jack refuses to go to rehab, Adam threatens to go to the press with details about Jack's addiction. Jack asks Billy to take over at Newman while he is gone. Phyllis plays with Lucy and shares a heartfelt goodbye with Daniel. Noah returns home and sees the money is gone. Chloe has the duffel full of cash.
