"Equus," presented by Pittsburgh Public Theater continues its Pittsburgh run through Oct. 29 at the O'Reilly Theater. "Equus" tells the story of Alan Strang, a teenage stable hand who commits a horrific crime, and Martin Dysart, the psychiatrist who struggles to exorcise the boy's demons. Tickets: $30-$65.

Go on a spook-tacular tour
If you like creepy and spooky stories of the unexplained, Haunted Pittsburgh Tours will take you on a walking jaunt into the city's ghostly, grisly, ghastly past takes you through the heart of it all, downtown Pittsburgh. Tours are offered beginning at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through early November. Tickets: $17, $10 (children 12 and younger).

John Cleese is taking the Heinz Hall stage at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 for a truly unforgettable evening. This living comedy legend will engage in an evening of conversation along with audience Q & A. Before Cleese walks his way onto the stage, the audience will get to watch "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" in its entirety on the big screen. Tickets: $60-$126.

Celebrate Italian Heritage Day
In honor of Italian Heritage Month, local community groups and museum staff will facilitate educational activities on every floor of the Heinz History Center from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. Oct. 1. Activities include: Learning how to play bocce, arts and crafts inspired by the History Center's Italian American Collection , practice your Italian vocabulary with La Scuola D'Italia Galileo Galilei , watch live cooking demos & sample Italian American recipes in the Kitchen Classroom and larn how to play scopa & morra with Istituto Mondo Italiano .

Take the family to the Children's Museum
Explore empathy and kindness through animal-focused activities at the opening of "Destination Empathy" exhibit on Sept. 30 at the Children's Museum. Kid's will be able to dance like a bee, laugh like a dog, maneuver through grass like an insect and see the world through the eyes of a pigeon in search of food using immersive technology. The Children's Museum is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Tickets: $16, $14 seniors, children 2 and older.
