Michael Keaton in a scene from 'Birdman'

Robinson native Michael Keaton will return to Pittsburgh as a visiting scholar at Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center. Keaton, 63, studied briefly at Kent State, but never graduated from college.

Keaton is gaining national attention and Oscar buzz in his role in “Birdman.” He first caught Hollywood’s attention with 1982’s “Night Shift,” which was followed by more than 40 films. He got his start in front of the camera in “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”
