Large American flag to fly outside Greensburg Gander Outdoors

American Flag

The new Gander Outdoors in Greensburg is going to fly a large American flag in keeping with a tradition started by parent company Camping World Holdings in 2014.

The 40-by-80-foot flag covers 3,200 square feet and will fly on a 130-foot pole outside the store, located at Greensburg Commerce Park, 1040 Towne Square Drive.

An official flag raising ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 6. The event is free and open to the public and will include refreshments and snacks. All military veterans, service members and first-responders are invited to attend.

Currently, the massive American flag flies over 90 Camping World RV SuperCenters and is being erected at Gander Outdoors locations across the country.

The Greensburg store opened at the former Gander Mountain location in April.
