Citizens Bank: Issue that caused direct deposit delays resolved
Citizens Bank customers in the Pittsburgh area reported Friday morning that their direct deposit did not arrive in their accounts as expected.
Channel 11 News received calls, and customers also took to Facebook and Twitter to voice their concerns.
The bank tweeted a statement shortly after 9 a.m.:
"Customers are seeing a delay in transactions posting to their accounts, due to a vendor processing issue. This issue is affecting multiple financial institutions. We appreciate the patience of our customers as we work to resolve this issue"
Customers reported receiving the money in their accounts shortly before 11 a.m. The bank tweeted shortly before noon that the issue had been resolved, but that heavy volumes were causing a slowdown in online and mobile banking.
