It took over 50 years, but Fort Pitt beer should be back on store shelves within about two weeks, the businessman reintroducing the specialty lager said.
Mark Dudash, president and owner of Duquesne Bottling Co., said he began producing and packaging the brand on Tuesday in Latrobe at the City Brewing Co. plant. Wholesalers in the coming days will be loading the brew last seen in 1958 and distributing it from Johnstown to Bethlehem.
The Pittsburgh area will have to wait for Fort Pitt, said Dudash, who doesn’t want to crowd his recently introduced Duquesne LT, the light version of his flagship brand, Duquesne Pilsener.
