Stanton Daily Grind adds book exchange to menu
The global nonprofit organization fosters neighborhood book exchanges with a “Take a Book — Share a Book” philosophy.
The new steward, Stanton Daily Grind coffee shop, offers patrons a large shelf of free books inside the store. By offering an additional book exchange, employees say they hope to encourage visitors to read after regular business hours.
”We welcome a lot of distant travelers, especially from the adjacent interstates,” manager Carrie Boots says in a release. “If a visitor comes by when we are closed, we still want them to have access to fresh reading material and to feel welcome.”
The Westmoreland Library Network and historian Jennifer Sopko, author of “Idlewild: History and Memories of Pennsylvania’a Oldest Amusement Park,” are among the early book donors, the release adds.
