Frick Art & Historical Center to extend Friday hours permanently
The Frick Art & Historical Center in Point Breeze has announced a permanent change in hours, now staying open until 9 p.m. on Fridays, and and an expansion of its free entertainment on summer Fridays.
Effective April 1, the hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays.
All of the Frick’s public venues, including the Grable Visitor Center, Clayton, Frick Art Museum, Car and Carriage Museum, greenhouse, Frick Museum Store and the Cafe at the Frick will remain open during the extended Friday hours.
“Last year, we were open on Friday evenings during the summer months, and the response was overwhelmingly positive,” Frick Director Robin Nicholson said in the announcement.
Summer entertainment at the Frick will no longer be limited to the first Fridays of summer months, according to Nicholson.
Summer Fridays at the Frick will be a free, 12-week outdoor series of performing arts from June 17 to Sept. 2. Performances will be at various locations on the Frick grounds each week beginning at 6:30 p.m. A complete schedule and details will be announced in May.
Nicholson also announced that a new pedestrian entrance at the corner of Penn and South Homewood avenues will open to the public April 1.
