Comedian Adam Sandler performed a tribute to Chris Farley on his Netflix special to commemorate the anniversary of his death.
Comedian Adam Sandler performed a heartfelt tribute to his friend and fellow “Saturday Night Live” cast mate Chris Farley to commemorate the anniversary of his death.

Sandler released a tribute song and video on Tuesday. The clip is from his Netflix special “Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh.” Netflix posted the seven-minute clip to YouTube .

In the song Sandler reflects on the first time they met calling him a “one-man party.”

He sings about the late comedian’s signature skits, “On Saturday night, my man would always deliver. Whether he was the bumblebee girl or livin’ in a van down by the river.”

And shares the tales of hard drinking, warning him he’d be “ending up with Belushi and Candy.”

While Sandler sings and plays an electric guitar, clips of Farley are projected above the stage.

Later in the song, Sandler reflects on the last time he hung out with Farley at “SNL” cast mate Tim Meadows’s wedding, “But a few months later, the party came to an end. We flew out to Madison to bury our friend.”

But though he’s gone, he still brings joy, “Hey, buddy, life’s moved on but you still brings us so much joy. Make my kids laugh with your YouTube clip or ‘Tommy Boy.’”

Farley died on Dec 18, 1997 from a drug overdose. He was 33.

David Spade, Farley’s co-star in “Tommy Boy,” also remembered his friend, posting a gag reel from the comedy to his Twitter .
