Disney releases teaser trailer for ‘Frozen 2’
Is it that time already? Time to head back to Arendelle?
Disney released a teaser trailer for “Frozen 2” on Wednesday. Perhaps you’ve heard the original. (Heard it over and over and over and …)
The teaser opens with Elsa on a black sand beach, eying the waves as they crash toward her. She takes a run into the water, creating ice platforms as she goes. A large wave throws her back. Determined, she takes another run, diving through a small wave and forges ahead.
A giant wave bears down. She zaps an ice ramp and begins to scale it, only to have it break apart, tossing her under the water.
There’s no dialogue or songs revealed in the teaser, and the quick-cut action sequences fail to reveal any hint of a story.
The original cast — Idina Menzel (Elsa), Kristen Bell (Anna), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff), and Josh Gad (Olaf) — will be returning. Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are also back.
While Buck told Fandango he can’t divulge any details on the plot, he did say, “For us, Jen and me, it’s been so fun to get back in the room and be with these characters again. These characters are part of us — both for Jen and me. Anna, Kristoff, Elsa, Olaf — they’re all parts of our personality, so it’s fun to play with these characters again and sort of see where we can go next with them. Just like any characters that you love, to see them grow and to see what happens next.”
Since the original arrived in 2013, Disney has produced two mini sequels, “Frozen Fever” and “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.”
The movie is set for release on Nov. 22.
