With the rainy season upon us, there's no better time to try on the latest rainwear designs from Helly Hansen, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 10 and 11 at Dick's Sporting Goods in South Hills Village mall.
Helly Hansen is a 137-year-old Norwegian sportswear brand named after founder Helly Juell Hansen, known for creating the world's first supple waterproof fabric in 1877. Prices range from $100 to $800. Guests can take photos in the company's mobile rainwear photo booth and enter a contest by uploading a photo of themselves in the rain to Instagram with #hellyhansen and #weloverain for a chance to win a trip to Bergen, Norway. Deadline is April 23.

Just do it
The Do Something Big Fashion Show will be at 7:30 p.m. April 17 at the International Suite of the Sewall Center at Robert Morris University in Moon. The runway show will be hosted by five students from the school's communication seminar class and will feature clothing from boutiques in Sewickley with models from toddlers to college students.
The event will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Pittsburgh area. Tickets are $10, $5 for children and students.

Fashion forward
The Pittsburgh Global Connection's Fashion Forward will celebrate the VIP launch of Evie Advanced Clinical Skin Care from 7 to 10 p.m. April 11 at Cavo, 1900 Smallman St., Strip District.
A fashion show will feature the latest spring collections from Broke Little Rich Girl, Lex & Lynne, Number 14 Boutique, Rosewood, Serendipity Boutique and Wanderluxe Designs.
The event will benefit the Challenge Program, which contributes to workforce and economic development by partnering businesses with high schools to ensure students have the skills they need to be successful in school and the workplace.

Neighborhood Flea
The Neighborhood Flea will kick off the season with a mini flea market at the Great Shadyside Yard Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 11 in the Liberty School parking lot at the corner of Ellsworth Avenue and Ivy Street. Shop vintage, handmade or print art, photography and fashion.
The regular event will be held every second Sunday from May through October at 23rd Street and Penn Avenue in the Strip District.

The Bags Bellinis & Brunch from noon to 2 p.m. April 12 at Herberman Conference, UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Shadyside, is sold out. The event will benefit Satchel of Caring Foundation, which provides hand-sewn satchels to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

Swap time
It's time to get the spring clothing and accessories you no longer want and swap them out for something else. The Swap Time event will begin at 6 p.m. April 16 at Harvard and Highland, 220 N. Highland Ave., East Liberty. Participants should bring unwanted items and separate them onto tables, according to pants, dresses, skirts, etc. At 6:30, there will be introductions and then the swap will take place. No money is needed.
