Bejeweled

Whowhatwear.com offers style tips to reinvent classic outfits with timeless jewelry:

Offset a classic little black dress with stackable bangles: The little black dress is a wardrobe must-have. Whether it’s your mainstay for a girls’ night out or a black-tie event, it’s a piece that works for any occasion. To offset the minimalist silhouette, try pairing it with stackable bangles.

Add polish to a classic blazer with a statement bracelet: Take your office look to the next level by incorporating a sophisticated bracelet into the ensemble. It not only ties a tailored outfit together, but it adds a dose of your individual style to your work uniform.

Reinvent a classic tee with a charm necklace: The classic simplicity of a white T-shirt is what makes it a wardrobe essential, but one way to make it a focal point of an outfit is by wearing a charm as a necklace.

Add dimension to denim by mixing metals: You’re as obsessed as the next denim lover with your classic boyfriend jeans or high-waisted flares, but reinventing these classics is what makes an outfit stand out. That’s why mixing gold and silver charms is a great way to contrast with the denim.

Troubleshooting

Even top makeup artists get the occasional mascara clump, smear or wonky lash — and they know exactly how to fix them, says Allure magazine:

Clumps: A clump requires a lash comb or a clean spooley brush. “Insert the comb right behind the clump, break it apart, then stop,” says makeup artist Pati Dubroff. “You can comb and comb, thinking you’re making it perfect, but that just breaks down the formula and you end up with flakes.”

Spider lashes: Curing this brand of arachnophobia requires only a touch of makeup remover and a lash comb. Use a spray bottle to mist the comb or dip the end in the remover, then “rake through the middle to the ends until the lashes get fluffier,” says makeup artist Mally Roncal. Scoop the comb from underneath and pull up gently to remove any crustiness on the tips.

Smudges: Get some Almay oil-free makeup eraser sticks. Break the tip to activate one, then really get in there and spot clean.
