KFC offers fire logs that smell like … fried chicken
Ah, holidays. There’s nothing like relaxing with family in front of a warm fire — with the smell of fried chicken wafting from the hearth.
Uh … yeah.
Fast-food chain KFC has announced it’s offering the KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog, which should make your family room or den smell just like the inside of a KFC.
The five-pound logs are available for $18.99 at kfcfirelogs.com — one per customer — while supplies last.
“Imbued with the unmistakable, mouth-watering aroma of Colonel Sanders’ secret recipe,” the site says, “the KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog finally puts to rest the age-old dilemma, ‘How can I make this fire a hundred bajillion times better?’”
The firelogs, from Enviro-Log, are made of 100 percent recycled materials and can burn for up to three hours.
“At KFC, we have always been proud of our role in bringing loved ones together at the dinner table around a bucket of our world-famous fried chicken,” Andrea Zahumensky, KFC US’ CMO, told Business Insider. “Now, this winter we’re bringing all the things we love — family, friends and fried chicken — together around the fire with our scented firelog.”
KFC urges caution when using the firelogs. While the logs might smell great, they ask you “do not attempt to eat it.” Also, they suggest the logs might “attract bears or neighbors who are hungry.”
