History Channel's 'American Pickers' to film in Pa. this fall
Heads up, Pennsylvania antique collectors: Mike and Frank are coming to town.
The History Channel show "American Pickers" — where hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz travel the country buying odd and unique antique items for Wolfe's business, Antique Archaeology and Fritz's business, Frank Fritz Finds — will be filming throughout Pennsylvania in September, and they're looking for local collections to pick.
The show's production team is seeking Pennsylvania residents with unique antique collections and interesting stories behind them.
Wolfe and Fritz only peruse private collections, so stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions and businesses need not apply.
In 2012. the "American Pickers" team went to Ford City to search through the Mantini family's collections in the former Sokol Club building along Sixth Avenue, in some of the homes of brothers Jeff, Roch, Eric and Dennis and in the basement of the Mantini Funeral Home. The episode that featured the Mantinis also included a prosthetic limb factory.
In 2015, the show aired an episode about what was found at the former James C. Keyser's Garage in Johnstown.
