Out & About: Fashion Show hosted by the YWCA Westmoreland County
You don't have to spend a fortune to look fabulous.
That was one takeaway from the annual Girls in Pearls Fashion Show hosted by the YWCA Westmoreland County on Aug. 15 at Rizzo's in Crabtree.
Runway models — including Sheryl Nunn, who also was recognized as the 2016 YWCA Rising Star — were clad in “Floral Flair”-themed outfits from the Y's thrift store in downtown Greensburg. Thrift store staffers and volunteers helped models select their head-to-toe looks.
Before the show, about 310 fashionistas dropped tickets in silent auction baskets and filled plates with appetizers as they mingled, prompting Y supporter Barbara Ferrier to remark that navigating the wall-to-wall crowd was “a good problem to have.”
Executive Director Kathy Raunikar stunned as she greeted guests in her own cream silk mini with maxi mesh overlay embroidered with crimson flowers. Event co-chairwomen were Ellen Katter and Rosine Dull, who also provided runway commentary.
Seen in the couture crowd: Norma Skillings, Theresa Rusbosin, Bonnie Lewis, Ruth Tolbert, Chris Okonak, Dottie Lynch, Paulette Stratico, JoelynAukerman, Sherrie Dunlap, Mandy Zalich, Kim Kramer, Barbara Flock, JoEllenNumerick, Jan Taylor-Condo andJill Briercheck.
