Out & About: Relay for Life of Mount Pleasant's 1st father-daughter dance draws double the anticipated crowd
Relay for Life of Mount Pleasant's “Me and My Special Guy Dance” Feb. 5 was a smashing success.
The organization's first-ever father-daughter dance drew double the anticipated crowd, requiring a change of venue from St. Pius X social hall to Roosevelt Hall in Mt. Pleasant a week before the event.
Dawn Keefer, senior market manager for the East Central Division of the American Cancer Society, said attendance was cut off at 400.
There were 10 activity stations to the Candyland theme, including face-painting in the Peppermint Forest, posing for pictures at the Candy Castle, and counting the candy in the jars at the Wonka Bar.
There were pizza and popcorn, door prize drawings all night long, a Chinese auction and a DJ playing music for dancing.
Committee members with Keefer were Katie Ronald, Melissa Wendell, Darcy Pallone, Sarah Pallone, Katie Bandemer, Lisa Lehman, Robin Bankosh, Linda Millslagle andKristin Dzambo-Morvosh.
Isabella Galiotto, 6, of Greensburg, attended with her father,Eric Galiotto. Isabella's hair ribbon, dress and fingernails were all the same shade of royal blue.
