Ladies love country music and Gary Pratt.

Pratt performed with Dawn Jones Forsha, a.k.a. Dawn Noelle, at the July 28 TGIS (Thank Goodness It's Summer), hosted by Westmoreland Cultural Trust at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg.

Pratt and Jones Forsha also sing with the band Moonshine Steel.

The show consisted of covers and originals from Pratt's CD, “Don't Walk There in My Shadow.”

Pratt calls the women who show up in skirts, cowboy boots and hats to line dance the Kick It Up Dancers.

“We're the groupies,” Gloria Grasha of North Huntington said. “Where they go, we find our way there.”

Grasha said she's been following Pratt for six years, and she's a patron of Le Jardin Florals, his business in Greensburg.

Grasha said once when she was ill, Pratt showed up at her door with well wishes and a beautiful bouquet.

“He makes you feel good,” Grasha said. “He cares about you.”

Other Kick It Up Dancers: Laurie Kennedy of North Huntington, Chris Rosensteel and Fran Ross of Greensburg and Shelley Hunter of Cook Township.

Also enjoying the show were Robin Hlebechuk, Lugene D'Angelo and Anna MarieBigi, Pratt's classmates from Greensburg Salem High School Class of 1980.

The event was sponsored by Sherid's Driving School. Folks from Seyler-Berkebile Marriage and Family Therapy tended bar.

Subs, salads, wraps and desserts were by chef Lisa Hegedus with Caffe Barista.

Also seen: Cultural trust President Mike Langer and event coordinator Kelli Brisbane, Peg Colosimo, Anne Marie Welty, Brian Geary, Kevin and Jeanie Bock, Nat and Melanie Pantalone, Keith Harrold, John Scanlan, Marcy and Leon Zajdel, Fred and Nikki Checchini, Janet Reese and Roseann Mastrippolito, celebrating her 82nd birthday on July 31.
