Rescheduled 'Mary Poppins' show in Greensburg cancelled

The “Mary Poppins” show that had been scheduled for Greensburg's Palace Theatre earlier this month, and was rescheduled for Aug. 10 to 12 at Greensburg Garden & Civic Center, has been cancelled.

The show was originally rescheduled due to a glitch in securing the rights to the show and a turnover in the local producers.

Originally scheduled through C&B Productions, the show was taken over by Applause Productions, a locally based group of theater enthusiasts. Approximately 40 community cast members had been rehearsing the production for several months.

Applause Productions reduced the ticket prices, but was still forced to cancel because of “unforeseen circumstances,” according to a press release.
