The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust renamed its cabaret theater to honor longtime trustee and supporter George Greer.
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust renamed its cabaret theater to honor longtime trustee and supporter George Greer. The 260-seat space formerly known as the Cabaret at Theater Square will be called Greer Cabaret Theater it was decided by board members, supporters, and staff of the trust and the Eden Hall Foundation.
The theater offers musical productions, late-night entertainment, live music and food.
"George and the Eden Hall Foundation have long been stalwart supporters of culture, education and community development in the Pittsburgh region, and in particular our work in the cultural district," says Kevin McMahon, trust president and CEO, in a news release.

Over the course of 25 years, Greer has served on the trust's executive, finance and development committees, played an active role in fundraising, and contributed significantly to key cultural district initiatives such as the O'Reilly Theater, Cabaret Theater, free festivals, outstanding events and the planned conversion of the Bally Total Fitness Club property on Sixth St. in to a first-run movie theater Cineplex. As chairman and president of the Eden Hall Foundation, Greer champions arts and culture in Western Pennsylvania, recognizing that they play a key role in improving a region's quality of life.
