A woman was cut by broken glass after someone fired multiple gunshots at a van Wednesday night in Penn Hills.

Police Chief Howard Burton said officials from a group home on Briarwood Drive in Penn Hills were headed back to the building when a man standing at the intersection of Rose Avenue and Marose Drive fired six gunshots at them.

“They broke out some taillights and windows, but fortunately no one was seriously hurt,” Burton said. “A woman inside the van was cut by broken glass, and another person may have injured their ankle when they dove to the floor of the van.”

The incident was reported around 8:30 p.m.

Penn Hills police are investigating.
