Man shot, killed in SUV in Marshall-Shadeland

Pittsburgh police are investigating after a 48-year-old man was shot in a sport utility vehicle Friday in Marshall-Shadeland.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office said Dedric Ellis of Turtle Creek died after being rushed to a hospital.

Zone 2 officers were called at 12:21 a.m. to the 3100 block of McClure Avenue to investigate an overturned SUV, police said.

Inside, they found Ellis suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics transported him to Allegheny General Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 1 a.m., police said.

The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine Ellis' cause and manner of death.
