Bethel Park schools closed Friday because of threat
All Bethel Park School District buildings will be closed Friday after a threat, according to district officials and Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.
The news station reported that a Nov. 1 letter from district officials notified parents and staff of graffiti messages that were found in a high school bathroom. One of the messages referenced a threat to the school on Nov. 9, according to WPXI.
The letter said that if officials were unable to confirm who wrote the messages, school would be cancelled that day.
All after-school activities and the high school’s fall play showing are cancelled as a result of the closure, according to a message posted on the district website. The play was rescheduled to Saturday at 2 p.m.
The day will be made up on Feb. 18.
