First-grade students at Edgeworth Elementary got to experience a day as a 100-year-old as they dressed up like centenarians to celebrate the 100th day of school.

The boys—many donning gray mustaches, baby-powdered white hair, plaid shirts and loafers—and the girls, wearing bathrobes, hair rollers and thick-rimmed glasses, maneuvered the hallways and their classrooms with the help of canes and a few walkers.

Over the last decade, 100th day of school celebrations have become quite popular in elemetary schools. The day serves as a fun way to celebrate the milestone, as well as to reinforce math concepts, like counting to 100.
