Fox Chapel Area School District officials have made the call to cancel classes on Wednesday due to frigid weather.
With the National Weather Service calling for temperatures that drop as low as -20 degrees, exposed skin could be subject to frostbite in about 30 minutes.
District officials also said all school activities on Wednesday are canceled or postponed.
They join a growing list of districts who already have made the decision to keep students home, including Deer Lakes, North Hills and A.W. Beattie Career Center.
