Members of the Fox Chapel Area High School’s community outreach club have signed on as Santa’s elves this holiday season.

They are collecting toys through Nov. 30 to be delivered to patients at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Gifts on the wish list include cards, board games, crafts, art kits, Legos, Barbies and toy cars.

The idea was spearheaded by freshman Cassidy Minton.

“Cassidy came to community outreach with the idea to collect toys for sick kids and the kids all wanted to help,” student advisor Rachel Machen said.

Members of the community can donate presents at a collection box in the high school office, 611 Field Club Road.

Toys must be new and in the original packaging.
