Dorseyville Alliance Church in Indiana Township will transform its campus into a fall festival on Oct. 6 with music, pumpkins and a chili cook-off.
The church at 3703 Saxonburg Blvd. will host its second annual free Fall Family Fun Day, a community event for all ages, from noon to 3 p.m. in the church parking lot and hospitality room.
“We are looking to build upon last year’s success by providing a safe, fun-filled environment for people from our community to gather and enjoy being together,” the Rev. Mark Conklin said. “We want people to know that we love our community and are here for them.”
This year’s event will feature live music, free hot dogs and desserts, a chili cook-off, games, pumpkin painting, cornhole challenge, baskets and other giveaways.
Dorseyville Alliance Church has been serving at its present location since 1960. Church outreaches include supporting food banks, providing money and volunteers for a homeless ministry, making lap robes for area nursing homes and offering childcare to refugees from Syria and Burma.
“We are looking forward to gathering with friends and families of our community to create many fun memories this fall season,” said Marla Nestel, Fun Day coordinator.
