O'Hara moves forward with $3.5 million sewerage project
A project to bring reliable sewerage to the Saxonburg Boulevard area of O’Hara is moving forward after at least five years of discussion.
Council this month approved $3.5 million in contracts for the East Little Pine Creek sanitary sewer and pump station project.
Construction is planned to provide sewerage to neighborhoods from the Shaler line to the Indiana Township line, and some homes along Berryhill and Calmwood roads. Many of the properties there still rely on septic systems.
Work is scheduled to begin after Jan. 7, Township Manager Julie Jakubec said.
The main contract was awarded to Chivers Construction Company, Inc., of Fairview, PA, for the base bid and some alternate work for about $3.2 million.
Electrical work went to Bronder Technical Services, of Prospect, PA, for $265,497.
