Register by Friday for O’Hara yard waste collection

| Tuesday, August 7, 2018 10:39 a.m.
O’Hara will have a yard waste collection on Aug. 22. Residents have to register for it by Aug. 10.

Friday is the last day to register for O’Hara’s special yard waste collection on Aug. 22.

The township’s waste collection contract with Waste Management provides for curbside collection of garden residue, twigs and tree trimmings on the third Wednesday of each month from May to September. But residents are required to register at least 10 days prior to the pick-up date.

There are two remaining collections this season, on Aug. 22 and Sept. 19.

Yard waste includes leaves in biodegradable bags, shrub trimmings, limbs, brush and similar residue. Grass clippings are not accepted

Residents who are still cleaning yard debris from the July 2 storms should be aware that tree limbs must be less than four-feet long and three-feet wide.

Material must be bundled at the curb.

Residents can call 412-784-1784, ext. 203 to schedule a collection.
