More than $450,000 in summer storm damage at Camp Guyasuta will be partially offset by proceeds from a comedy show on Oct. 28.

Tickets are available for Brad Upton’s performance at Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall, with special guest Frank Perman.

Doors open at 6 and the show is at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $35 and are available at ticketfly.com.

The Boy Scout-owned camp sustained extensive damage this summer across the 175-acre campus in O’Hara.

“The week of July 4 we got hit by two separate floods from rainstorms that pounded the region,” Ranger Mike Daniher said.

Three bridges were completely destroyed, Daniher said, and two more were damaged.

“Many trees were uprooted and they downed many light poles supplying power,” Daniher said.

Mud flowed down the hillside and into the swimming pool and shelters. The biggest loss occurred when mudslides shifted ground along the hills, he said.

Camp Guyasuta is covered partially by insurance but most of the damage was not paid for.

With more than 20,000 people using the campgrounds each year, many activities in mid-summer through September had to be canceled.

“This event will help raise much-needed money to bring this hidden jewel back to normal,” Daniher said.
