The Hampton Community Pool closed this afternoon after water testing, the township Department of Community Services said.

In a community alert, the township said the pool closing was precautionary pending the verification of water chemistry readings. No information about the chemistry reading was included in the alert, which was sent out shortly after 2 p.m.

A call to Bill Ryder, the community service program supervisor, was not immediately available for comment.

A recording on the pool's telephone said tonight's activities are cancelled and it will reopen tomorrow.

Reisdents are urged to call the pool at 412-486-8809 for more information.
