Hampton Middle School’s acting principal has been officially appointed to the position.
The Hampton School Board voted unanimously to permanently hire Marlynn Lux at a recent board meeting.
The board also accepted the resignation of her predecessor, Eric Stennett, who had been on approved leave of absence since 2016. He was principal for nine years.
Lux began at Hampton as assistant middle school principal in 2009, according to Shari Berg, public relations consultant
Salary for Lux will be $125,000, according to the board.
“Mrs. Lux is an excellent communicator, with a passion for, and dedication to, the success of every student and staff member at the middle school, said board President Bryant Wesley. “We look forward to continuing to support her in her new role.”
She was a math teacher at Mt. Lebanon High School from 2002 to 2009 and had an administrative internship at Hampton High School in 2006.
Lux said she has enjoyed working at Hampton over the past eight years. She played a large role in developing Hampton’s summer educational programs.
“I am honored to continue working with the staff, students, parents and community members as the principal,” she said.
Lux completed Edinboro University superintendent certification program in 2016.
