Wyland Elementary student's memory lives on
Connor Michalek, who was a student at Wyland Elementary, died April 25, 2014 from medulloblastoma, but his memory lives on.
Connor was a huge WWE fan and was able to meet his wrestling favorite, Daniel Bryant, before his death. The WWE bestowed Connor with the honorary name “The Crusher,” and posthumously inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.
A custom WWE belt was sent to the school accompanied with a personal note from WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon that said, “I truly believe Connor was an angel on earth and his impact on so many of us only continues to grow.”
McMahon, along with WWE wrestler Triple H, founded Connor's Cure in 2014 in Connor's memory, a nonprofit charitable organization for pediatric cancer research.
Connor would have been in fifth grade this year.
The belt presentation is one of several ways his classmates are remembering and honoring him before they graduate to the middle school.
