Punk rocker, pontificator and IFC TV star Henry Rollins is being investigated in Australia for his choice of reading material. Rollins told Monday’s New York Post a passenger seated near him on a flight to Brisbane, Australia, was disturbed because he was reading Ahmed Rashid’s best seller, “Jihad: The Rise of Militant Islam in Central Asia.” The passenger notified the Australian government, which in turn notified Rollins that he was now considered “a person of interest,” Rollins said. The host of IFC’s “The Henry Rollins Show” said he was not particularly concerned by the investigation or its ramification, but was bothered by the anonymous airplane snitch. “But the fact that this guy could be that ignorant and call me in on this for a book … I was angry,” he said. “Because of the fact that the guy wouldn’t confront me. I like confrontation. If I’ve offended you, let me know. Don’t call it in and not leave your name. I just think it’s pretty weak.” © Copyright 2006 by United Press International
