An Austrian woman has been sentenced to life in prison for killing her four babies, encasing two of them in concrete and freezing the other two.

"I'm sorry I can't make everything all right again," 33-year-old Gertraud Arzberger told the court in Graz, Austria.

Her partner, 39-year-old Johannes Genser -- who was the father of at least three of the children -- said he had not known that Arzberger had been pregnant, The Daily Telegraph reported Saturday. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for being an accessory to the murders.

Prosecutors said tests show the babies found in the freezer were still alive when they were put inside. The two in concrete were too disintegrated for any conclusive results on how they had died.
