Standing behind the bar, Amy Schneider , 26, of Verona, wears a silver necklace with a large "E" pendant standing for Elixir, where she has been a bartender for two months, although she has spent three years mixing drinks for people.

Question: What do you like to make?

Answer: I love to make mojitos. People really enjoy them and they're a great summer drink. But, the easier the better. I like to make Scooby Snacks, which can be a shot or a drink. They're really good. Not many people have heard of them before and they're really surprised when they drink it.

I personally like the taste...and I've never heard anyone complain. They're beachy.

Q: Best thing about working in a bar?

A: Meeting different types of people and hearing people's stories.

Q: Least favorite?

A: Being up so late, and having to get up early for work the next day.

Q: What else do you do to bring in money?

A: I teach aerobics at the Downtown Athletic Club, four to five days a week. Also a spokesperson for BMW during auto show season. My season starts Sept. 1 and goes through May.

Q: When is the best time to work at the bar?

A: I like Tuesday because it's steady, but I get to talk to the customers.

Q: What is the most memorable pick up line you've heard at the bar?

A: This one guy ... he holds out a 20 (dollar bill) and says I bet I can kiss you without ever touching your lips. Then he leans over and kisses the girl on the lips and says that's the best 20 I ever spent. I knew what he was up to so I turned around so he couldn't get me. He loses a lot of money, but he gets a lot of kisses. You get to the point where you don't even listen (to the pick up lines).

Q: You hear a lot of music while you're working your shifts. What bar song you're most tired of?

A: "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley. I'm so tired of hearing it. Everywhere I go that song's on: in the bar, on the radio, it's even on my aerobics mix CD.

Q: What might a person not know about you?

A: I have an undergrad in elementary education with a concentration in special ed. I taught in Miami and New York City, Brookline. I moved to Pittsburgh from New York City six months ago and just bought my first home.
