MAKE ‘EM RUN: The practice ended with contentious two-point conversion drills. The defense stopped the offense on three of five plays from the 3-yard line. John Malecki, Chris McKillop and freshman Aaron Berry made nice plays during a spirited defensive effort. Two runs up the middle gained nothing. The offense scored on a shuffle pass from Tyler Palko to Steve Buches and a quick toss from Bill Stull to Oderick Turner. The cost for losing the drill was a mere five “up-and-downs” by all the offensive players. The defense was not pleased with the punishment, calling for wind sprints or laps. WORK SESSION: Senior linebacker Clint Session stood out at practice. He was a disruptive factor on run defense most of the day, and then broke through to “sack” quarterback Tyler Palko during 11-on-11 drills. IMPOSING HIS WILL: Senior defensive tackle Vernon Botts imposed his will during second-team drills, spending much of the afternoon making a forward push and even jawing a bit with fellow second-team lineman Craig Bokor. GO GET IT: Freshman receiver T.J. Porter made an acrobatic catch in the corner of the end zone on a timing pattern, but was shaken up while laying out for a deep pass late in practice. – By John Grupp Additional Information:
