The Japanese government Thursday opened an official Internet TV site which will show the prime minister's news conferences or meetings with VIPs.

The Web TV site's nine programs include "Lion Weekly," a short film showing Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's activities of the week, the Kyodo News reported Thursday.

Koizumi's news conference on the turning point of his political decision and an interview with Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe, as well as programs on the theme of structural reform, are ready for broadcast.

The address of the official Internet TV is: http://nettv.gov-online.go.jp.
