Education: bachelor's of arts degrees in general music education and voice from Carlow University

Background: For two decades, Leonard has taught music to children and coached the Peabody High School Highlanders' football team. He also volunteers with the anti-crime initiative Men Against Destruction Defending Against Drugs and Social Disorder.

Noteworthy: Carter recently received the Dignity and Respect Champion Award presented by the Center for Inclusion at UPMC for his devotion to helping children.
