A British court in London sentenced to nine years 18-year-old twin brothers who left their birthday party to rob and kill their step-grandmother.

Robert and Jonathan Maskell, along with accomplice Dwane Johnston, 19, were accused of breaking into the home of Anjelica Hallwood in January 2004, and punching and strangling the frail 74-year-old widow to steal her life savings of about $1,800, Sky News reports.

The two, convicted of manslaughter, were seen grinning while spending the cash on cellular phones. They later returned to their party. Johnston, who had been released from prison and was living with the victim, was also sentenced to nine years.
