To the Editor:
I am writing in response to the appeal filed by The Valley Independent under the state's Right-to-Know Law.
Speaking as a member of the community, I am more interested to know what our district attorney's office is doing. Why has it taken so long for any charges to be filed against this "teacher"?
Isn't that information that would better serve the community, as opposed to the name, hire date, salary, etc. of said "teacher"⢠Don't we as a community have a right to know why our district attorney is sitting on this case?
What good does the name of a teacher who is no longer employed by the district do anybody except give them more gossip value. It is Monessen, after all, and I'm sure most of the community already knows who "Employee No. 166" is.
How does that help the victims in this case⢠Aren't they the ones who have a right to know that something is being done with the perpetrator who has violated their lives?
I am outraged that to date there have been no charges filed, there is no information being given to the parties whose lives have been affected by this matter due to the lack of interest by our DA.
Come on, people, let's get our priorities straight and go after the people who we put in office and hold them accountable.
