Ed Persin resigned from Export Borough Council on Tuesday night, halfway through his first full elected term.

Persin was appointed in 2016 after the death of longtime borough Councilman Stanley Mahinske.

Council now has 30 days to appoint a new council representative to fill Persin’s term, which runs through 2021.

Anyone interested is asked to get in touch with any current council member, or to attend council’s Dec. 4 meeting, which will be at 7 p.m. at the borough building on Washington Avenue.

Council voted 5-0 to accept Persin’s resignation, which was submitted in a letter. Persin and council President Barry Delissio were not present.
