A Monroeville man authorities believe robbed four gas stations overnight was jailed Monday morning after being arrested in Ross Township.

According to Doug Cole, Monroeville police chief, Chezeq Morgan, 24, is suspected of being the man behind a robbery spree spanning gas stations/convenience stores in the city of Pittsburgh, Wilkins Township, Monroeville and Ross.

“We're not 100 percent sure he's our guy, but we believe he is,” Cole said. “He confronted an employee at the Marathon gas station, the employee fled the area. He did take U.S. currency.”

The Monroeville Marathon is located on 2699 Mosside Boulevard. The robbery there was reported at 3:40 a.m.

Ross police Sgt. Benjamin Dripps said Morgan was arrested at 5:30 a.m. on Babcock Boulevard, shortly after the Sheetz station there was held up.

“There's a strong likelihood,” Dripps said of Morgan's involvement with the other gas station robberies.

The specific charges against Morgan are not yet available. He's being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
