Workers begin tearing down the rides after McCandless was forced to cancel its annual community day celebration due to the bad weather on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018.
The Town of McCandless Community Day celebration wasn’t spared from the torrential rainfall that put a damper on most outdoor activities in the region this past weekend.

The annual event that was scheduled for Saturday afternoon typically draws thousands of visitors for the parade, games, rides, live entertainment and fireworks.

Town officials said the committee that organizes the event will meet on Tuesday to see if some of the activities can be scheduled as a fall festival.
