SSB Bank hosting ‘shop for a cause’ event Dec. 19 to help domestic violence victims
A bank in the North Hills is hosting a charity fund-raiser that mingles the fun of a night out with the girls, shopping for bargains and an opportunity to help women trying to overcome domestic violence and other trauma.
SSB Bank on Perry Highway in McCandless is playing host to an event called Shop for a Cause: Ladies Night Out Benefiting HEARTH, which will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Foundry Table & Tap in the North Shore.
“With the hustle and bustle of worrying about your own family and friends, so many of us struggle to find the time and means to give back to our community like we wish we could,” said Jessica Merolillo, the bank’s director of marketing.
Merolillo said the unique event, which is in its first year, is a chance to relax with friends, support local businesses and help others in need.
Tickets cost $15 per person and include a drink ticket, light fare, a pair of raffle tickets for door prizes and access to one-time only deals from local businesses and vendors including Urban Fit Co., Premier Jewelry, Sengence, Thirty One Gifts, Rodan + Fields, LuLaroe, and My Sweet “O.”
Tickets also will be sold at the door, but space is limited.
All the proceeds from the event will be donated to HEARTH , a local non-profit organization that provides transitional and permanent housing for women in northern Allegheny County with children who are experiencing homelessness and are survivors or domestic violence or other trauma.
