Penn Hills council is expected to hire two companies to demolish 11 abandoned houses for $75,000.

Those slated for demolition are 708 Beulah Road, 110 Bessemer St., 206 Curtis St., 222 Dorothy Drive, 12409 Frankstown Road, 1916 Funston St., 10019 Grandview Ave., 1855 Lincoln Road, 29 Paxico Road, 10134 Pearl Road and 1891 Runnette St.

The homes on Beulah, Lincoln and Pearl roads, as well as the house on Dorothy Drive, will require asbestos removal, Planner Damian Buccilli said.

Lutterman Excavating and Jadell Minniefield Construction will demolish the houses. Buccilli said he expects the demolitions to happen by the end of the year.

Buccilli said the municipality’s planning department was able to fund two rounds of demolitions totaling 23 houses for around $126,000.

Eight houses were announced for demolition in July, but Buccilli said an additional $10,000 of federal Community Development Block Grant funding allowed the department to demolish more houses.
