Riverview High School boys basketball Coach Paul Sapotichne hosted his inaugural youth basketball camp at Riverside Park in Oakmont.
The free camp took place from 9 a.m. to noon June 11-16 and was open to Verona and Oakmont children.
Players were separated into groups based on grade levels; 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. About 75 kids participated.
“It was good for the community and everyone pitched in,” Sapotichne said. “We had a great time.”
Children worked on ball handling and shooting skills through drills, played games and learned about teamwork, camaraderie and leadership.
Sapotichne is in his 39th year coaching and fourth at Riverview.
