Members of the Franklin Regional and Penn-Trafford high school cheerleading squads both finished in the top 20 at the UCA National Competition held in early February at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Teams from 50 states and several international squads competed, showcasing group stunts and tumbling skills. FR’s team advanced to the semi-finals.

The Penn-Trafford squad finished tenth in the competition’s Large Varsity Division II finals.

The Franklin Regional squad also finished in 10th place, in the medium-group category at the PIAA’s Competitive Spirit Championships, held last month in Hershey.
