Free flu shots available in Penn Hills through October
Penn Hills Municipality will sponsor events through October for free influenza vaccinations.
Shots will be administered on a first come, first served basis to people aged 18 or older, according to a release issued by Diane Fitzhenry, Penn Hills EMS Supervisor.
“It’s a good opportunity for (the Penn Hills EMS Department) to meet the people we serve when they’re healthy and it’s a good way to keep people healthy,” Fitzhenry said.
The vaccines are provided to the municipality by UPMC, she said.
The first event will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the municipal complex’s EMS building, which is next to the police department at 102 Duff Road.
Below is a list of the remaining events:
• Oct. 10: 9 a.m. to noon at the Penn Hills Senior Center, 147 Jefferson Road. The service will be available on the building’s first floor in the Blue Room.
• Oct. 13: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Community Center, 7300 Ridgeview Avenue.
• Oct. 15: 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the McKinley Citizens’ Center, 801 Seventh Street.
• Oct. 18: 5 to 7 p.m. at the Penn Hills Library, 1037 Stotler Road.
